First mini quilt!

This is my first quilt. I decided to do a mini quilt because I'm a beginner at quilting. I wanted to have a taste of the quilting process before I would start on a bigger quilt. I am usually sewing bags. But, lately I'm interested in quilts.

Binding

The binding! Making the binding was strangely fun for me. I'd love to try bias binding sometime! Perhaps using this bias binding tutorial by bitter purl.

Back loops
Sewing it onto the front then hand sewing it on, fun! I made these little tabs using some muslin. The backing is muslin as well, super soft!

It's done!

Hanging!

I used a combination of tutorials to learn how to do the binding. One by The Sometimes Crafter and the other by Crazy Mom Quilts. It was a wonderful learning experience! Hand sewing the binding to the back is very meditative, I love any project that calls for hand sewing!

I hope this little blog will encourage people to sew new things, don't we all love fabric and new projects?!
