A sewing block?

I haven't sewed in weeks and that makes me pretty annoyed. I guess it's the sense of not feeling so accomplished or being creative? I have so many ideas spinning around in my head, but I'm not bored at all! Just a lack of time and college-student-summer-lazyness. The Fall Semester starts soon, what a bummer!

Anywho, I have some things to share!

Trade and Gift!
I did a mini trade with Lisa of Quiltin' Texan! I've known her for a few years and she is so sweet! She is an avid quilter and makes beautiful quilts! She sent me the quilting book as a gift for my birthday! I love trade or gifts like this! The book has tons of info, as it is a complete guide. I love that it includes info on bias binding.

Cottage Apron
I'm getting started on making the "Cottage Apron" from the One Yard Wonders book! I desperately need an apron. I found this fabric at JoAnn and it is so lusciously soft and drapery!

Sewing Machine Cover
I made this sewing machine cover months ago but decided to mention it again! I made the cover using this awesome tutorial! I highly recommend it! It's reversible as well. This fabric you see here is made by Alexander Henry "Sew Now Sew Wow." It was so hard to find, I brought a yard from ebay. There is also another similar fabric by Alexander Henry over here!

Sewing Machine Cover
The lining! This fabric is by Moda. Please do excuse the wrinkles! Eep!

I re-did the blog a little bit. The main reason is that I really love to reply to comments and the main blogspot system doesn't allow that. So I heard of Disqus. It's so easy to install and has a clean interface. I'm so thrilled that I can reply to comments now! I did some fumbling around with the comments to get them back up, I imported them :)

Thanks for reading! I'm off to iron the massive amounts of quilt blocks and make some laundry bags :) Hopefully!

  1. Loving the fabric choice for your apron, did you find that at joann's recently? Cause I may have to go looking for it! Thanks for following my blog, I'm following you now, too. We can be microbiology/sewing buddies! Also, I reply to comments on my blog via email. It's easier to just check my email and respond than to search my blog looking for new comments.

  2. Thank you! I found the cooking/baking fabric at JoAnn a few months ago. It should be around the quirky food fabric. It has a very soft hand and is not stiff at all. I don't usually buy my fabric from there, but this was a very good find!

It's awesome to meet another microbiologist! Like a breath of fresh air, haha! Indeed we can be buddies!

I get email notifications through email, I just love replying on the post. It's a habit as I do have a personal journal on livejournal.com :)

    Thanks so much coming by!
